BOARD OF MUSKINGUM TOWNSHIP TRUSTEES

December 29, 2015

PURPOSE OF MEETING:

The Muskingum Township Trustee met in regular session on December 4, 2014 at 7:00 P.M. in the Fire Building for the purpose of the 2014 End of Year Meeting.

 

ATTENDANCE:

Trustees: Mike Maniaci, Matt Hittle, Ed Fell.

Fiscal Officer: Jason Baughman.

Residents:  0 resident in attendance.

 

MINUTES READ AND APPROVED:

December 4, 2014 Regular meeting minutes read. Hittle motioned to approve as read. Fell second. Maniaci ayed.

 

CHECKS APPROVED/SIGNED:

Checks were approved and signed for payment.

Fiscal Officer Baughman discussed with trustees the current month’s payroll as it relates to the revised township employee handbook.

Trustees and fiscal officer discussed and defined regular 40 hour work week, overtime hours, and call-out pay.

 Fiscal Officer and trustees agreed that the policy we revised and adopted states call out pay is paid at time and one half with a minimum of 3 hours. Overtime is paid on hours in excess of 40 hours and holiday, sick, vacation hours do not count in determining the 40 hours worked and in calculating overtime hours.

 

FALLS CONTRACT AND MARK BROWN:

Maniaci stated he spoke with Mark Brown of Falls Fire as a follow-up to Mrs. Cohagen’s inquiry at the previous meeting.

Mark indicated that there was no truth to comment about wanting to drop out of our existing contract.

There was no truth to the board being split on this issue.

Mark did confirm that there have been steps made and surveys regarding a fire district.

Fell stated that there would be no benefit for Falls to back out or even consider dropping us from the contract.

 

 

 

 

LOWES GENERATOR GRANT:

Maniaci stated he stopped at Lowes to discuss with manager about looking into grants for a generator for our township. The manager told him that the main person there that handles these types of grants was off. Maniaci stated he would have to follow-up with him when he returns.

 

ANNUAL YEAR END INVENTORY:

The annual year-end inventory is complete. Fiscal Officer Baughman was updating our electronic copies and would forward to Maniaci to be filed with the county engineer.

 

TOWNSHIP WEB SITE AND FINANCIALS:

Hittle indicated that as was discussed and stated at the last meeting, financially we are in a good position and ahead of the years before and recommended we look at including more of this sort of good information on our website for our township to see our progress, that we are being diligent with our uses of funds and the trustees and fiscal officer have been working well as a team over the last few years. Maniaci and Fell also agreed and felt good at where we are financially versus what has been done versus what resources we have available to us.

 

$500 SAFETY (MORE) GRANTS:

Maniaci stated that the application for the MORE grant of $500 has been submitted and confirmation of and return receipt of the filing has been received.

 

DELTA DENTAL RENEWAL:

Fiscal Officer Baughman presented a renewal form from Delta Dental to be authorized to continue with Delta Dental insurance as our provider of the policy we procure for the township employees that are on the insurance.
